Classic 202-S Protein Skimmer

The Reef Octopus Classic 202-S Protein Skimmer is the largest in-sump model in the Classic Series, rated for aquariums up to roughly 265 gallons. It's built for hobbyists with sizable, heavily-stocked systems and limited sump space who still want the simplicity and value of a fixed-speed needle-wheel design rather than a DC-controlled Elite or Regal skimmer. Best for: reef and mixed saltwater systems up to approximately 265 gallons Setup: in-sump, compact-for-its-capacity cone footprint Pump: needle-wheel pump built for sustained, high-volume export Maintenance: adjustable gate valve, removable collection cup For large systems on a budget, the 202-S delivers Regal/Elite-class tank coverage at Classic Series pricing — the tradeoff is a fixed pump speed instead of variable DC control. Compatible replacement parts: Classic 202 series pumps and collection cups.
