1967; Vanguard Studios, Inc., Beverly Hills, CA. Mid-Century art piece designed by Lee Reynolds Burr, a California artist who began his own art factory à la Andy Warhol, albeit without much of the same notoriety or fame. His approach was simple: create original art cheap enough that every family in America could own a piece. He went into business with his more business-savvy brother and, after a few years, both were multimillionaires and the company went public. This piece features a clipper ship rocking against the ocean waves. The material, despite looking like wood, is made from vanathane; a urethane rubber-type material often used in the manufacture of skateboard and rollerskate wheels. 31.5ʺW × 2ʺD × 23ʺH MM - 301376 - 082823 Please refer to photos regarding condition.
