A contemporary woodcut on rice paper by Clinton Hill. Hand signed in pencil and dated '88 on the bottom right. A minimal composition with lined forms in red, pink, yellow, and blue. The work of Clinton Hill is characterized by a lyrical abstraction which is derived from the painterly tradition of the New York School. Hill had numerous one man shows in both the US and Europe. Clinton Hill has been a part of almost 100 exhibitions over a 55-year period. This artwork is an example of the artist's oeuvre exploring abstracted forms.
