Clifton Sid Dahlia

Clifton Sid produces striking 7-inch golden-yellow blooms with the distinctive spiky petals characteristic of semi-cactus dahlias. This vigorous variety reaches 4.5 feet at maturity, making it an excellent choice for mid-to-back border placement or cutting gardens. The semi-cactus form provides architectural interest while the warm yellow coloring complements mixed plantings. Reliable performer for both experienced growers and those expanding their dahlia collection. How To Plant Dahlias To get your dahlias started, pick a sunny spot with soil that drains well. Dig a hole, lay the tuber flat, and cover it with soil about 3 inches deep. Hold off on watering for now. Once you spot some sprouts and a few leaves, it’s time to water, but keep it gentle to prevent root rot. It’s a smart  to put the stake next to the tuber at the same time of planting, so you don’t accidentally damage it later on. As the season goes on, give your dahlias some love with fertilizer and insect sprays to help them bloom beautifully and grow strong. In the fall, dig up the roots and store them over winter.
