Cleaver For President

Black Codes USA presents “Eldridge Cleaver For President” In 1968, he ran for president as the candidate of the Peace and Freedom Party, a leftist political party in the United States that focused on civil rights, social justice, and anti-war sentiments. Cleavers campaign was characterized by his strong criticism of the U.S. government and policies, his advocacy for African American rights, and his call for social change. He positioned himself as an alternative to the mainstream political candidates of the time, advocating for the issues such as reparations for African Americans, a withdrawal from the Vietnam War, and broader social reforms. Although Cleaver did not win the election, his campaign highlighted the voices of the disenfranchised communities and brought attention to issues of systemic racism and inequality. Cleaver’s presidential campaign remains a significant moment in the history of third-party politics in the U.S. and reflects the complexities of the social-political landscape of the 1960s. 7.5 oz 255-260 GSM  16 singles.
