Clean Mate Rust and Sap Eraser

An incredibly useful tool for cleaning up secateurs, garden shears, and knives, the Clean Mate is a dense scouring block that tackles resin, rust, and other stubborn buildup on blades. Use it to keep your tools in good working order and ready for the next round of pruning and trimming in the garden.  Made by: Niwaki Made in: Japan Specifications:  2.5" x 1.5" x 0.75" We also stock a smaller Clean Mate Mini that's about half the size of the Clean Mate. The mini is designed for more compact gardening tools. Use: Add a few drops of Camellia Oil to the blade or tool (water works fine too, but you'll want to oil the blade later anyway) then use the Clean Mate as you would an eraser. It has a fairly rough texture and might scratch polished surfaces, so we suggest testing before use. After removing leaf resin, rust, and gunk, dry the tool, knife, or blade with a clean cloth and then wipe with Camellia oil and store in a dry place.  Further Reading: Niwaki (knee-whacky) means garden tree. In Japan, gardens are both landscapes and microcosms of nature. Shaping and caring for these landscapes is an art form, and having the correct tools is essential. Niwaki’s tools exemplify the good design and quality construction that we look for as purveyors.
