Clark Fork River - Winter Fly Box

Fish the Clark Fork like you know it — because now you do.   The Clark Fork River Winter Fly Box is hand-curated specifically for the conditions, hatches, and trout behavior you'll encounter on the Clark Fork from December through March. The Clark Fork near Missoula stays accessible in winter. Midges are the primary food source and trout stack in the deeper, slower sections of the river.   This box is built around the Clark Fork's winter hatch calendar — midges. Every fly was chosen with nymphing and midge fishing in slower water in mind, giving you exactly what you need to match what the fish are eating at this time of year.   What's in the box: 36 flies total — 18 unique patterns, 2 of each — covering midge larvae, zebra midges, small RS2s, and soft hackles. No filler. No patterns that don't belong on this river in this season.   Pro tip from the water: Fish the slower water behind islands and in the deeper bends in winter. Clark Fork trout are catchable year-round if you find where they're holding.   Whether you're making your first trip to the Clark Fork or you fish it every season, this box gives you a proven starting lineup so you can spend more time fishing and less time digging through bins at the fly shop.   Includes a quality waterproof fly box. All flies are hand-tied to Bozeman FlyWorks standards — the same quality we'd put on our own lines.
