City Slicker® Birch Tree

City Slicker® Birch Tree: Urban-Tough, Striking Beauty Meet the mighty, Birch Borer resistant newcomer that just rolled onto the Nature Hills website, City Slicker® Birch Tree PP#16,573 (Betula nigra 'Whit XXV'), a tough-as-nails cultivar of the native River Birch that was bred for urban grit and flashy good looks. Boasting glossy dark green foliage, a pyramidal shape, and striking white exfoliating bark (yes, the white bark like on the iconic Paper Bark Birch!), this cultivar turns heads all year long! It's a resistant tree that shows off its bright green leaves in spring and summer, turning mellow golden in fall before dropping for winter. The leaves are lacy and lightly serrated, lending a soft texture to its strong frame. Unlike some Birches, it shrugs off heat, humidity, drought, and pollution with the swagger of a true city dweller! City Slicker® is medium-sized and neatly upright, topping out up to 40 feet tall and spreading just 25 feet wide—sizable enough for shade but not overwhelming in tight spaces. Its bark is its calling card: creamy white, peeling back in curled sheets to reveal warm cinnamon tones underneath, especially showy in winter when leaves are gone! Even young trees have bark worth admiring! Historically, Birch trees have symbolized new beginnings and renewal, and with City Slicker®, that legacy gets a sophisticated, low-maintenance twist. It's disease-resistant (even against the Bronze Birch Borer), fast-growing, and perfect for the gardener who wants beauty without babysitting!
