Piano Solo by Judy Gerlach Mid-Elementary Publisher Description: Cinnamon Stick came about after watching a child licking a cinnamon twist. I noticed the red and white stripe going round and round which inspired me to compose this piece. Purpose: This piece teaches students to count in 6/8 time. The left hand has back and forth as well as up and down motion which almost has a carousel-like feeling. This is also like a child licking a cinnamon stick, as well. Suggestions for Instruction: Keep a good allegro tempo going throughout. This is a happy piece! Play it happily. Key: C Major 3 p.
