Cinnamon Ceylon (Flakes)

Delicate, sweet cinnamon with subtle spice and health benefits. Sweet cinnamon, also known as true cinnamon or Ceylon cinnamon, is prized for its delicate flavor and mild sweetness, making it perfect for both sweet and savory dishes. Unlike cassia cinnamon, it contains lower levels of coumarin, making it a healthier choice for regular consumption. Rich in antioxidants, it supports heart health and has anti-inflammatory properties. Use it in everything from cookies to stews and curries. Details: Certified organic. Origin Sri Lanka. Note 9/18/2024: Earlier this month, a Consumer Reports article came out regarding high levels of lead in cinnamon from many store-brands. At Gneiss Spice, each harvest of cinnamon is tested for heavy metals in an accredited food-safety lab. The current lead level is 0.38 ppm for Cassia Cinnamon and 0.56 ppm for Ceylon Cinnamon. These results are significantly below the FDA limit of 3 ppm.
