Cinnamon Cassia (Chips)

Bold, sweet spice perfect for baking and cozy beverages. Cassia cinnamon, the most common variety in the U.S., delivers a robust, sweet flavor that’s perfect for baking cinnamon rolls, adding depth to savory dishes, or spicing up coffee. Its warm, comforting aroma also makes it ideal for potpourri and holiday crafts. Pair with nutmeg, cloves, and ginger for a classic spice blend. If you ingest a lot of cinnamon, consider purchasing the healthier, though milder flavored, ceylon variety. Details: Certified organic and sustainably harvested. Origin Indonesia. Note 9/18/2024: Earlier this month, a Consumer Reports article came out regarding high levels of lead in cinnamon from many store-brands. At Gneiss Spice, each harvest of cinnamon is tested for heavy metals in an accredited food-safety lab. The current lead level is 0.38 ppm for Cassia Cinnamon and 0.56 ppm for Ceylon Cinnamon. These results are significantly below the FDA limit of 3 ppm.
