Cinnamon Cassia (Ground)

Sweet, robust ground cinnamon perfect for baking and warm beverages. This ground cassia cinnamon is the go-to spice in the U.S., known for its bold, sweet flavor. Ideal for baking cinnamon rolls, adding depth to curries, or spicing up your morning coffee. Its rich aroma and versatile use make it a pantry staple, especially when paired with nutmeg, allspice, or cloves. If you eat a lot of cinnamon, consider purchasing the milder ceylon variety, which contains lower levels of coumarin and is better for your liver. Note 9/18/2024: Earlier this month, a Consumer Reports article came out regarding high levels of lead in cinnamon from many store-brands. At Gneiss Spice, each harvest of cinnamon is tested for heavy metals in an accredited food-safety lab. The current lead level is 0.38 ppm for Cassia Cinnamon and 0.56 ppm for Ceylon Cinnamon. These results are significantly below the FDA limit of 3 ppm. Details: Certified organic. Origin Indonesia. Like Cinnamon?
