Churchill IV AVRE (half guards)

The Churchill IV AVRE (half guards) was a British engineering variant of the Churchill IV tank, fitted with partial protective guards to balance durability and mobility. It featured a 290mm petard mortar for demolishing fortifications and clearing obstacles during assaults. The half guards offered some additional protection while maintaining the tank's maneuverability, making it effective in key operations like the D-Day landings, where it played a crucial role in supporting infantry and breaching enemy defenses.
