Surgical stainless steel internal mechanism. Platinum and gold coating in 99.9% purity. FINAL SALE EARRINGS SOLD SEPARATELY Note: The manufacturer of these patented earring backs sells the backs either with the plastic disc or without. With the plastic disc, it simply holds up the earring higher on your ear. The plastic disc is only an add on and is not necessary. With continuous wear, the plastic disc may fall off of the metal back or crack due to oils, humidity, chemicals like hair spray and makeup, and normal wear and tear. Rest assured, the backs are still functional without the plastic disc as the plastic disc is just an add on and can be removed at any time. Understand that with these earring backs, the plastic discs have to be replaced occasionally but they are not necessary on the earring. The only purpose of the plastic disc is to prevent earring from drooping. Replacement discs are available HERE.
