Christie Wall Light

The Original BTC Christie Wall Light draws inspiration from rolling ocean waves to create a striking fixture with a handmade bone china shade that features gentle corrugations echoing the movement and flow found in nature. This playful yet refined design transforms from crisp white when switched off to a beautifully ambient glow when illuminated, casting hypnotic shadows onto the wall behind while the shade itself glows gently for dramatic effect. The gently fluted bone china is secured by solid brass fittings in an antique brass finish that rounds off this spectacular design with sophisticated detailing. Whether positioned beside beds where the harmonious illumination provides perfect reading light, mounted in hallways where the large-scale design creates visual impact, installed in living areas where the wave-inspired form adds organic character, or used in contemporary spaces where the undulating shade softens clean lines, the Christie Wall Light delivers both artistic sophistication and practical functionality. This wall light showcases traditional Stoke-on-Trent bone china manufacturing through hand slip-casting techniques that celebrate bone china's versatility in creating complex geometric forms. The 47cm shade requires multiple days of slip-casting, firing, and perfecting to achieve the signature wave-like corrugations that distribute light harmoniously throughout any space. The solid brass antique finish provides lasting durability while complementing both classic and contemporary interiors. Final assembly takes place in Original BTC's Witney, Oxfordshire factory where the shade is carefully wired and attached to the hand-brushed antique brass elements. Original BTC, established in 1990 by Peter Bowles, combines playful refinement with timeless craftsmanship through designs like the Christie Wall Light created by Director Charles Bowles. This fixture reflects the brand's passion for translating natural inspirations into sophisticated lighting solutions that celebrate traditional British manufacturing techniques. Through attention to organic forms and expert pottery craftsmanship, Original BTC helps create interiors that honor heritage artisanry while delivering lighting that enhances daily life with ambient illumination and dramatic wall-washing effects that transform spaces with oceanic elegance.
