The CHIPSEN BoT-nLE521 module is an OEM-style, cost-effective, low-power, true system-on-chip (SoC) for Bluetooth Smart (Bluetooth low energy) BLE applications. Integrating the BoT-nLE521 into your design enables robust BLE slave nodes to be built with very low total bill-of-material costs while greatly simplifying and streamlining the design and certification process. BoT-nLE521 combines an excellent RF transceiver with an industry-standard enhanced Cortec-M4 CPU, in-system programmable flash memory, 24kB RAM, and many other powerful supporting features and peripherals. The BoT-nLE521 is suitable for systems where very low power consumption is required. Very low-power sleep modes are available. Short transition times between operating modes further enable low power consumption.  BoT-nLE521 Features BT Version: Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) V5 Built in Antenna ARM® Cortex®-M4 32-bit processor with FPU, 64 MHz Memory: 192 kB Flash / 24 kB RAM RF Output Power: MAX +4 dBm (-20 ~ 4 dBm) RF Receive Sensitivity: -96 dBm Type 2 near field communication (NFC-A) tag with wakeup-on-field and touch to-pair capabilities Fully automatic LDO and DC/DC regulator system (Uses LDO by Default) Temperature Sensor UART (CTS/RTS) with EasyDMA, SPI, and I2C data interfaces 12-Bit 200 ksps ADC with - 8 configurable channels with programmable gain Size: 15 mm x 8 mm x 1.8 mm Operating Voltage: 1.7V to 3.6V Operating Temperature: -40 to +85℃ RoHS compliant 1.4 Certifications: SIG, KC (including wireless EMC), IC, FCC, CE, TELEC Applications Computer peripherals and I/O devices Mouse Keyboard Multi-touch trackpad Interactive entertainment devices Remote control Gaming controller Beacons Personal Area Networks Health/fitness sensors and monitoring devices Medical devices Key-fobs Wrist watches Remote control toys RF Certification Fee Exemption If you create a wireless product using an uncertified module, you must obtain your own wireless certification. The BoT-nLE521 already has multiple certifications (SIG, KC (including wireless EMC), FCC, CE and TELEC), reducing the cost and certification process of manufacturing your wireless products.  Uncertified Bluetooth Module BoT-nLE521 Complex authorization process KC+EMC, FCC, CE & TELEC certified Wireless RF certification cost Wireless certification exempt Certification cost by country when exporting Certified in the US, Europe & Japan If authentication fails, replace the entire module Bluetooth logo not available Bluetooth SIG certification completed No technical support during the certification process Certified samples and CHIPSEN technical support   Low Power Consumption The table below shows the BoT-nLE521's typical current draw in microamps (uA). Bluetooth Connection Methods BoT-nLE521 Master and Slave Modules A BoT-nLE521 slave module can communication with a BoT-nLE521M master module.  In this configuration the BoT-nLE521 Master will attempt to connect to the BoT-nLE521 Slave. If the Slave accepts the request, the connection is successful.    When communicating between modules there must be a Master and Slave pair. Modules of the same role cannot communicate with each other, i.e. two Slaves cannot communication with each other.  Smartphones and other Bluetooth Masters to BoT-nLE521 Slave Modules The BoT-nLE521 Slaves will advertise their device information. They can be searched for by smartphones and other master devices, and and connection attempts are received.  Documentation and Downloads BoT-nLE521 Datasheet and Installation Documentation (PDF) BoT-nLE521 Dimensions and Mechanical Specifications (PDF) BoT-nLE521 FCC Certification (PDF)
