Chioggia Beet Seeds

About- This beautiful beet is well known for red and white striped flesh. The round uniform roots are great for both home and market gardeners and are often used as a colorful topping! When and Where to Plant- Sow seeds in the garden as soon as the soil can be worked in early spring. Seeds will germinate in 5-10 days. Select an area with loose soils and full sun. Care and Harvest- Harvest anytime after the root reaches 1" in diameter or as desired. Twist off the leaves rather than cutting to prevent "bleeding" which causes less intense color and perhaps less flavor as well. Planting Depth- 1/2" Seed Spacing- 2" Spacing Between Rows- 20-24" Days to Germination- 5-10 Space After Thinning- 4-6" Days to Maturity- 50 Approximate Seeds per Pkt- 150
