Chinese Perfume Plant

Chinese Perfume Plant (Aglaia odorata) is a plant native to low regions of China. It also grows in Taiwan, Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, and Vietnam. Its name "Aglaia" comes from Greek mythology this was the name of one of the 3 Graces. They bloom tiny yellow flowers, each about the size of a grain of rice. However, when their flowers bloom they do not open and stay shaped like tiny balls. Their flower's scent is sweet and lemony and is stronger during the day than at night. Chinese Perfume plants love to be in full, bright sunlight and planted in well-draining soil. If you live in growing zones 10 and 11, you can grow your plant outdoors. However, if you live in any other zone, this plant will be a houseplant. You can bring it outdoors when the weather warms up as long as you take it back inside during the cooler months.
