The Pioneer is a remarkable three-way heritage cross, combining the traits of a Heritage Transylvanian Naked Neck, a Heritage Delaware, and a Peterson family line from the 1940s. This unique lineage results in naturally strong and healthy animals. The true magic of the Pioneer breed lies in its impact on flavor and nutrition. These chickens are not your average poultry; they are rich in nutrients like Omega-3s, vitamins A, D, and E, antioxidants, and more. The result is a chicken that is not only more flavorful but also more nutritious. At Azuluna Farms, we prioritize the welfare of our Pioneer chickens, ensuring they have the freedom to express their full range of instinctual behaviors. From hunting insects under the vegetation canopy to foraging on native grass, worms, and seeds, our chickens enjoy a nutrient-rich, holistic diet that directly translates into the exceptional flavor and quality of their meat. Our regenerative agriculture practices go beyond producing nutritious food. They actively enhance the health of our land and chickens, contributing to soil health, fertility, and the overall well-being of our ecosystem.  Savor the premium quality of Azuluna's pasture-raised chicken.
