Cheyenne Spirit Echinacea (Coneflower)

Colorful Blooms, Attractive to Songbirds This award-winning, herbaceous perennial has brought color to plains and prairies for centuries. The Cheyenne Spirit Echinacea is a low-maintenance, drought-tolerant coneflower that will fill your space with a range of hues and friendly pollinators. This echinacea variety is known across the world for its colorful, hardy blooms. In fact, it won both the 2013 All-America Selections® award and Europe's FleuroSelect Gold Medal award for garden performance. The Cheyenne Spirit's flowers present a wide variety of sunset shades, including: white, cream, red, pink, orange, yellow and purple. Steady growers with sturdy stems, the blossoms are ideal for cut gardens and homegrown bouquets. You'll find that its flowers also attract hummingbirds, butterflies, and bees to your space. In the winter, you'll enjoy an unexpected benefit: songbirds. After the blooming season ends, many gardeners leave the flowers (and their seeds) to dry on the plant. Songbirds will flock to your garden for a tasty little treat. Choose the Cheyenne Spirit to add a whimsical, wildflower effect to any style landscape. If planted alongside other flowering perennials, this echinacea can complete your cottage garden aesthetic. You may also arrange it in containers to bring the rainbow to your patio or terrace. Order now to snag this low-maintenance coneflower before we run out of stock!  Planting & Care 1. Planting: Plant your Cheyenne Spirit Echinacea in a location with full sun and well-draining soil. If you’re planting in a container, combine soil with sand to create soil that drains effectively. To plant, dig a hole that is the same depth of the roots and two times as wide. After loosening the roots with your fingers, place the plant in the hole and backfill the dirt. 2. Watering: Water immediately after planting and continue to water regularly until the plant is well-established. Then, water as needed. 3. Pruning: You can prune your Cheyenne Spirit Echinacea all the way back in the fall to prepare for new growth. However, you can also leave the flowers to dry on the plant to attract a host of songbirds during the winter.
