Chesterfield Love Seat

The Chesterfield style of sofa and armchairs has been popular since the 1700s, tracing its roots to the English aristocracy. Although the exact origin of the Chesterfield sofa remains somewhat of a mystery to historians, it is believed to be associated with the 4th Earl of Chesterfield, Phillip Stanhope. Over the past 300 years, the Chesterfield sofa and armchairs have undergone considerable changes, with much of the current aesthetic originating from the Victorian era, when deep buttons and over-quilted cushions were introduced. Today, the Chesterfield is popular in a range of residential and commercial applications due to its sheer elegant style. From smoking rooms and man caves to law offices and boutique hotels, the Chesterfield remains a timeless piece of furniture.
