Cherry Plum Tree

Cherry Plum Tree (Prunus cerasifera) is native to Asia and mostly grown as small, ornamental trees. However, with the proper pollinator plant nearby, they will produce some fruit. The fruit this tree produces is, in fact, not cherry but a plum. It is crucial to consider your hardiness zone before planting your Cherry Plum tree. These fruit trees are only hardy in zones 4-8 and are not drought tolerant. However, they cannot survive in wet, moist soil conditions either. Japanese beetles love these trees and can make their lifespan short-lived if they infest your tree. As long as you provide your tree with the proper living conditions and care for it regularly, your tree will thrive year after year.
