Cherry Ember Tomato

Meet the Cherry Ember, a stunning new introduction that we believe is destined to become a future classic. Bred right here in New York by Phil Griffiths at Cornell University, this variety is the result of over a decade of dedication. The fruit itself is a visual masterpiece—a luminescent, heart-shaped gem streaked with red and gold, resembling a tiny, striped apple that glows on the vine. Beyond its good looks, Cherry Ember is a practical triumph for the home gardener. These tomatoes possess a remarkable resistance to cracking, standing up to heavy rains that often split other cherries. The flesh is firm, meaty, and creamy with a glorious sweetness that makes them irresistible for fresh snacking right in the garden. Their lower moisture content also makes them an exceptional choice for drying, allowing you to preserve their rich flavor long after the harvest ends.
