This renowned d'affineur from California is making fresh goat cheeses in 3 inch disks. The perfect mixture of lavender buds and fennel pollen creates sweet notes that are offset by a pleasing, subtle acidity. This unusual chevre took first place in the American Cheese Society's 2005 competition. Because of it's underlying sweetness we suggest serving Purple Haze with savory/salty olive bread and a hearty Zinfandel wine.
