Cheeky Chypre Sample

The scent The artist This is a 2 ml spray sample. Find the full bottle here.  Chypre (say she’ – pruh, and make the ‘r’ sound stick in the throat) perfumes are a category of fragrance built around a big citrusy beginning, in contrast with dry, mossy, ambery notes (patchouli, oakmoss, labdanum) that create a striking and alluring contrast. This very classic fragrance structure can often smell gorgeously antique. Here, it’s given some cheeky 21st century sparkle with sunny lemon and a snappy, green-berry rhubarb smell right out of the gate. See if you can pick up on how the heady amounts of rose pull the two opposing ends of this together as it slides into a deliciously dry, leathery base full of mossy greens and hearty cedar. This is a wild ride for any nose and has so many opposing nuances that there’s a little something for everyone. So, you should definitely be fancy AF and wear a Chypre at least once in your life.  Notes include mandarin, lemon, rhubarb, peony, rose absolute, olibanum, cedarwood, saffron, patchouli, sandalwood, cistus and benzoin.
