Channel Catfish

America's most popular catfish is a hard-pulling, fast-growing staple for ponds, lakes, and backyard aquaculture. The channel catfish is the most widely stocked fish in the United States and for good reason. Built tough, adaptable, and willing to eat almost anything, channel cats thrive in ponds, lakes, rivers, and aquaculture systems across the country. Recognizable by their slate-blue to olive-gray body, scattered dark spots, deeply forked tail, and signature whisker-like barbels, channel catfish are as iconic as they are productive. Whether you're stocking a private pond for sport fishing, building a put-and-take fishery, or raising fish for the table, channel catfish deliver. They grow fast on supplemental pellet feed, tolerate a wide range of water conditions, and put up a serious fight on the line, making them a crowd favorite for anglers of every skill level.
