Fragrance Notes WILDCRAFTED INDIAN RED CHAMPACA Powdery violets & their leaves YLANG-YLANG APRICOTS Inspiration ‘When I lived in Singapore, I often walked my dogs through an old cemetery where I would experience a beautiful fragrance — it embodied a vapor-like coolness, with the heat of a narcotic white floral. The source of the fragrance eluded me, I could never see any blooms. Later, on a trip to Bali, in a produce market women were selling ‘canang sari’ —palm frond baskets filled with loose flowers used for spiritual offerings to the Gods. I recognized the scent that had captivated me in Singapore. A woman selling the buttercup-hued blooms told me the flowers came from the Champaca tree. When I returned to Singapore I bought a Champaca tree of my own. I began to compose a fragrance with Champaca at its nexus. The aroma is elusive and otherworldly.  One can stand in front of it and not smell the blooms, yet stand twenty feet away and be caught in its web’ — Holly Tupper, Perfumer  Ingredients Cultus Artem perfumes contain only fragrance oils, distilled water and perfumery alcohol.
