Nautilus Shell Metal Belt Buckle Accessory

The Chambered Nautilus is a very detailed, heavy figurine. 3.5" long X 2" high Brass/Metal. Weights around 1 pound! The chambered nautilus (Nautilus pompilius), or pearly nautilus, is the most well-known nautilus species. Its shell has a shiny nacre lining and a near-perfect equiangular spiral. The shell’s light underside and dark top provide camouflage from predators. They are "living fossils" that have remained relatively unchanged for 500 million years. They inhabit the deep reefs of the Indo-Pacific and hunt crabs, shrimp, and fish using 90 suckerless tentacles and chemical-sensing organs called rhinophores to locate food.
