At just a hair over an ounce, this Ultralight Chalk Bag is made from TX95, a new offering from Challenge Sailcloth. The waterproof fabric is comprised of coated high-tenacity polyester triple ripstop bonded to PET film with 45 degree Ultra CrossPly (UHMWPE) fibers inside for increased tear resistance.  We've found that although it contains significantly less UHMWPE fiber than DCF or Dyneema Hybrid, the beefier poly face and biased Ultra fibers provide about the same abrasion and tear resistance as you'd expect from DCF. As always, all of our seams are still taped for added durability and waterproofness. The polyester face adds durability and abrasion resistance for routes with rough rock. The rim is stiffened with flexible plastic boning (the same used in our stuff sacks) to keep the opening circular. We use a tight-weave stretch polyester enclosure to ensure chalk stays in the bag when sealed. This bag is great for chalk balls, socks or loose chalk. Note: The material costs are ~$2 less to make this pack from TX95 as compared to Dyneema Hybrid so we have decreased the price by that much.
