Chai Spiced Apple Concentrate

Our Chai‑Spiced Apple Cider Simple Syrup began with nine apple trees that refused to produce fruit for ten years. Not a single apple. Not even a rotten one.  Then, in year eleven, they surprised us with 75 gallons of cider — and suddenly we had a very delicious problem to solve. The inspiration to make the Chai blend came from our Anise to Meet You Salt Blend, which had been filling the kitchen with warm, cozy spice notes. It nudged us toward creating a chai‑spiced syrup, so we blended crisp apple cider with cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, cloves, anise seeds, fennel seeds, black pepper, and a squeeze of lemon.  The result is a smooth, gently spiced syrup that tastes like apple cider wandered into a chai shop and decided to stay. This syrup is wonderfully versatile. Add 1.5 tablespoons to sparkling water for a spiced apple spritz, a teaspoon to tea or coffee, or a splash to your favorite mocktail or cocktail. It’s also lovely drizzled over yogurt, granola, ice cream, or folded into baked goods. Made with unrefined organic sugar, each tablespoon contains 5 grams of added sugar, and each teaspoon contains 2 grams. We offer two versions from our orchard: a limited small‑batch organic syrup pressed at our farm, and a regular non‑organic batch pressed at a conventional mill.
