Midnight Express® Redbud - Cercis canadensis Midnight Express®

The Midnight Express® Redbud is a striking cultivar of native Eastern Redbud, prized for its deep burgundy foliage that emerges nearly black in spring. This deciduous ornamental tree matures to 20-25 feet, offering year-round visual interest with dramatic dark leaves, delicate magenta flowers in early spring, and golden fall color. Hardy in zones 4-9, it thrives in full sun to partial shade and adapts well to various soil conditions. Ideal for specimen plantings, borders, or as a focal point in landscape designs, this cultivar provides superior color intensity compared to standard redbuds while maintaining the species' elegant branching structure and low maintenance requirements.
