Center Stage® Red Crapemyrtle (Lagerstroemia indica)

Looking for a crapemyrtle that won’t disappear into the background? Center Stage® Red is here to stand out — and stay that way. With dramatic, disease-resistant black foliage and vivacious cerise-red blooms, it brings serious presence to the landscape. As the first red-flowered crapemyrtle in the Center Stage® series, it sets the bar high. The flowers are bold and abundant, popping against the dark foliage for a high-contrast look that reads as both refined and electric. Better yet, it holds its own through heat, humidity, and common diseases like powdery mildew, so that rich color and lush foliage never miss a beat. If you want a crapemyrtle that’s anything but ordinary — this is it. 6-12 feet tall and 8 feet wide at maturity Hardy in zones 6-10, be sure to check your USDA zone to ensure success Plant in full sun (6+ hours daily) Space plants 8 feet apart for best results Produces cerise-red ruffled flowers throughout summer Maintains glossy, purple near-black foliage from spring to frost Great for borders, hedges, screenings, landscape, mass plantings or as a focal point Attracts bees, butterflies and hummingbirds while resisting deer and disease Fall interest, heat tolerant Shrubs shipped Nov-Apr will arrive dormant; shrubs shipped Apr-Oct will arrive green or in bloom Care: Fertilize with Proven Winners Continuous Release Plant Food in spring and mid summer.
