Celtic Knot Moonstone Engagement Ring Set in 14K White Gold

The solid white gold (10K / 14K / 18K) and platinum heirloom version of our natural raw moonstone Celtic trinity knot bridal set — a real natural untreated moonstone at the center, showing the cool blue adularescence and characteristic raw inclusions of unenhanced material, framed by Celtic trinity knot (triquetra) accents at each shoulder with real moissanite side stones along the edges. Paired with a matching chevron contour wedding band featuring a trinity knot at the V-apex point. Built entirely in solid white gold — or solid platinum — in the karat you select from the drop-down (no plating, no rhodium-over-sterling). The two upgrades from our sterling silver version: solid white gold throughout, and real moissanite replacing simulated CZ for the side accents. The moonstone center stays natural raw untreated material — the authenticity of unenhanced moonstone is the point of the original design and is preserved at every tier. The color, blue sheen intensity, internal pattern, and visible inclusions will vary from stone to stone — no two pieces are identical, and your stone will not look exactly like the photographs. The photographs show a representative example. Your stone will share the same general character — translucent body with cool blue adularescence, pear cut, and visible natural inclusions — but the specific pattern of inclusions, the intensity of the blue flash, and the base color will be unique to your individual stone. If you'd like to see specific options before shipping, message us before placing the order and we can send photographs of available stones to choose from. The Engagement Ring Pear-cut natural raw moonstone center (6×8mm) in a 4-prong claw setting with milgrain bezel detail. Celtic trinity knot metalwork at each shoulder, accented by small round moissanite at the outer edges of each knot. The Chevron Contour Band V-shape chevron silhouette with a Celtic trinity knot at the apex point (pointing down) and graduated moissanite accents fanning up each side. Designed to nest below the engagement ring. Choose your metal: 10K, 14K, 18K white gold, or platinum "Solid gold" means the entire ring is gold alloy throughout — no plating, no gold-filled construction, no sterling silver core, no rhodium finish layer. This bridal set is built in solid white gold, and you choose your karat — or step up to platinum — from the drop-down: 10K white gold — the most durable and most affordable option, with the highest proportion of alloy metals for everyday hardness. 14K white gold — our default and the classic balance of gold content, durability, and value; the cool bright-white tone most buyers picture for a white-gold heirloom. 18K white gold — the highest gold content, for buyers who want the richest, most substantial precious-metal composition. Platinum — the premium choice: naturally white (so it never needs rhodium re-plating), denser and more substantial on the finger, and hypoallergenic. Platinum's white color is permanent. Every white gold and platinum option keeps the cool white-metal palette that lets the moonstone's blue adularescence dominate the design — the white color is permanent, won't fade, and won't turn skin green. If you're weighing the karats, our 10K vs 14K vs 18K gold karat comparison guide walks through the trade-offs in detail. Solid yellow and rose gold are available on request for buyers who want a warmer tone — message us before ordering — though white metal is what best preserves this design's cool moon-aesthetic palette. This piece is part of both our moonstone engagement rings and our wedding ring sets for women collections if you'd like to compare pairings. Whichever metal you choose, a solid white gold or platinum set is built to last a lifetime. It doesn't need replating, doesn't wear through, and holds resale and inheritance value in a way that lighter constructions don't. This is the version you choose when you want the engagement ring to outlast you — not just for the duration of the marriage, but for generations after. The cool white-metal palette is preserved from the sterling silver version (so the moonstone's cool blue adularescence stays consistent in its reading), but the underlying material is dramatically more substantial. White gold and platinum both continue the cool-metal palette that lets the moonstone's blue adularescence dominate without warm-metal contamination — yellow gold would compete with the cool stone tone; rose gold would soften the design into romantic register but lose the moon-goddess austerity. The white-metal palette preserves the witchy/Pagan/moon-aesthetic intent while elevating the construction to heirloom tier. About the real moissanite side stones The small white accent stones at the outer edges of the Celtic knot accents on the engagement ring + the graduated accents along the chevron contour band are real moissanite — silicon carbide, a distinct gemstone material with its own optical and physical properties. This is the meaningful upgrade from our sterling silver version, which uses simulated diamond (CZ) for the accent stones. Important distinctions about moissanite: Moissanite is its own real gemstone — not a diamond, not a lab-grown diamond, and not a simulated diamond. Originally discovered in meteorite fragments in 1893 by Henri Moissan (hence the name), now grown in laboratories for jewelry use. Hardness 9.25 on the Mohs scale — between sapphire (9) and diamond (10), one of the most durable gemstones available. Significantly more durable than CZ (~8.5 Mohs) for daily wear over decades. More fire (rainbow flash) than diamond — moissanite has higher dispersion than diamond, producing a more colorful sparkle pattern. This is one of the visual signatures of moissanite vs CZ — moissanite has genuine optical depth where CZ has flat bright reflection. Eye-clean and color-stable — moissanite holds its clarity and color permanently. Doesn't cloud, yellow, or degrade over time. The upgrade from CZ to moissanite is meaningful at the heirloom tier because the accent stones are part of the ring's lifetime composition. CZ tends to develop subtle wear after years of daily contact (small scratches, occasional clouding from chemical exposure); moissanite maintains its brilliance for the ring's lifetime. For a solid gold heirloom configuration intended to last generations, moissanite is the right durability tier for accent stones. If you'd prefer lab-grown diamond or natural mined diamond accents instead of moissanite at this heirloom tier, message us before ordering for a custom quote. Diamond accents are available as a further upgrade pathway for buyers wanting the all-diamond heirloom configuration. About the natural raw moonstone (preserved from the silver version) The center stone remains natural raw untreated moonstone with inclusions — same specification as our sterling silver version. This is deliberate: the authenticity of unenhanced moonstone is the design intent of this listing family, and upgrading to "cleaner" treated moonstone at the gold tier would defeat the purpose of the original positioning. For buyers who specifically want treated/polished moonstone at the solid gold tier (cleaner appearance, less variation, more uniform blue sheen), we offer a treated moonstone substitution at no additional cost — message us before ordering. The default at this listing keeps the raw natural character that defines our moonstone catalog. What this means in practice: this is real natural mined moonstone, orthoclase feldspar variety, with the distinctive adularescence (the floating blue sheen) that characterizes authentic moonstone. The stone is untreated — no heat treatment, no irradiation, no surface coating, no clarity enhancement. Visible inclusions, blue sheen variation, and natural color variation per stone are all preserved characteristics of this listing. If you're drawn to the lore as much as the look, our journal explores the meaning of moonstone and why it has been treasured across cultures for thousands of years. About the adularescence (the moonstone "glow") The cool blue sheen visible in the photographs is real — a physical optical phenomenon called adularescence (named for Mount Adular in Switzerland, the type-locality where moonstone was first studied). The effect is produced by light scattering between microscopic layers of two intergrown feldspar minerals (orthoclase and albite) inside the stone. As you tilt the moonstone, light scatters from different angles, creating the appearance of internal glow that drifts across the stone's surface. Untreated raw moonstone shows authentic adularescence that varies naturally across the stone. Some viewing angles show strong blue flash; others show subtle sheen. This is the most distinctive optical effect in any gemstone — and it can't be perfectly replicated in simulated stones (glass, opalite), which is part of why authentic moonstone has been treasured for thousands of years. About the Celtic trinity knot (triquetra) accents The interlaced metalwork elements at each shoulder of the engagement ring — and at the apex point of the chevron contour band — are Celtic trinity knots, also called triquetras. The triquetra is one of the oldest Celtic symbols, dating back over 1,000 years and appearing in pre-Christian Celtic religious art, the Book of Kells (~800 AD), and later Christian Celtic tradition where it became associated with the Holy Trinity. The symbolic meaning varies by tradition but converges on the concept of three interconnected forces unified into one: in pre-Christian Celtic tradition, the three aspects of the triple goddess (maiden, mother, crone); in Christian tradition, the Trinity (Father, Son, Holy Spirit); in modern Pagan and Wiccan traditions, mind/body/spirit, or the three realms (earth, sea, sky). The interlaced line in a triquetra has no beginning and no end — like all Celtic knotwork, it represents endless continuity, eternity, and unbreakable connection. The combination with the moonstone center is particularly resonant for buyers drawn to Pagan, witchy, or Celtic spiritual traditions — moonstone has been associated with the moon goddess in countless traditions for thousands of years, and the triquetra explicitly references the triple goddess. About the chevron contour band The matching wedding band uses a V-shape chevron silhouette with a trinity knot at the apex point and graduated moissanite accents fanning up each side. The chevron silhouette is one of the classical contour band shapes for pairing with pointed center stones (pear, marquise, kite) — the V-apex points downward, nesting below the engagement ring's center stone rather than rising above it like a tiara band would. In solid 14K white gold with moissanite accents, the band reads with more substantial weight and presence than the same pattern in sterling silver with CZ — the metal's density gives the open Celtic knotwork a fuller, heirloom feel on the finger, and the moissanite's superior brilliance keeps the accent stones reading bright and lively for the ring's lifetime. For care, the ring has two stone types with very different durability profiles. The moonstone center is the softer stone (Mohs 6–6.5, similar to opal or peridot) with natural cleavage planes more sensitive to impact than harder stones; the raw natural character means existing internal fractures can be sensitive to thermal shock or aggressive cleaning. The moissanite accents are at Mohs 9.25, second only to diamond — extremely durable, suitable for ultrasonic cleaning if isolated from the moonstone. Care across both stones: remove the ring before swimming, cleaning, gardening, weightlifting, or applying lotions and perfumes. Avoid impact on hard surfaces — the pear cut's pointed tip is the most vulnerable part of the moonstone. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners and steam cleaners (the moonstone can't tolerate these even though the moissanite would be fine). Avoid harsh chemicals (chlorine, bleach, ammonia, jewelry cleaners). Clean with warm water and a soft cloth or soft brush only. Solid white gold and platinum don't need replating and hold their tone indefinitely with normal wear. Store the ring separately from other jewelry so prongs and accent stones don't catch on other pieces. Frequently asked questions Is this ring solid gold or gold plated? Solid white gold in your chosen karat (10K, 14K, or 18K) or solid platinum throughout — no plating, no gold-filled construction, no sterling silver core, no rhodium finish layer. The entire ring is precious-metal alloy. Built to last a lifetime, never needs replating, holds resale and inheritance value. Which metal should I choose? All four options are solid and built to last a lifetime. 10K white gold is the most affordable and the most scratch-resistant for everyday wear; 14K white gold (our default) is the classic balance of gold content, durability, and value; 18K white gold has the highest gold content for the richest, most substantial composition; and platinum is the premium pick — naturally white, denser, hypoallergenic, and it never needs rhodium re-plating. All four keep a permanent cool-white tone that suits the moonstone's blue adularescence. The karat comparison guide covers the trade-offs if you'd like help deciding. What's the difference between this and the sterling silver version? Same design, two meaningful upgrades: (1) the metal goes from sterling silver with rhodium finish to solid white gold or platinum throughout, and (2) the accent stones go from simulated diamond (CZ) to real moissanite — actual silicon carbide gemstone (Mohs 9.25), not diamond but its own distinct durable real material. The moonstone center stays natural raw untreated material at both tiers because the authenticity is the design intent. Together these upgrades make this the full heirloom-tier configuration with real-stones throughout the ring. Is moissanite a real gemstone? Yes — moissanite is a real, distinct gemstone, not a diamond, not a lab-grown diamond, and not a simulated diamond. Moissanite is silicon carbide (a different material from diamond's carbon). Originally discovered in meteorite fragments in 1893 by Henri Moissan, now grown in laboratories for jewelry use. Hardness 9.25 on the Mohs scale (between sapphire at 9 and diamond at 10), more fire (rainbow flash) than diamond. What's the difference between moissanite and CZ? Significant differences. Moissanite is a real gemstone — silicon carbide, hardness 9.25, with permanent clarity and color, more fire than diamond, and lifetime durability. CZ (cubic zirconia) is also a synthetic stone, but a different material (zirconium dioxide), hardness ~8.5, that tends to develop subtle wear over years (small scratches, occasional clouding from chemical exposure). At the heirloom tier where the ring is meant to last generations, moissanite is the better choice for accent stones — it maintains its brilliance permanently while CZ can degrade over decades. Can I upgrade to lab-grown or natural diamond instead? Yes — both available at additional cost. Lab-grown diamond is real diamond grown in a controlled lab (same chemistry, same hardness as natural mined diamond, more accessible than natural). Natural mined diamond is genuine mined diamond with cultural significance and stronger resale market. Message us before ordering for a custom quote on either upgrade. Both diamond options work as direct accent-stone replacements for the moissanite at this heirloom tier. Will my moonstone look exactly like the photographs? No — and we're explicit about this. This listing uses natural raw moonstone with inclusions (same specification as our sterling silver version), which means every stone is one-of-a-kind. The photographs show a representative example. Your stone will share the same general character (translucent body, cool blue adularescence, pear cut, visible natural inclusions) but with its own unique color, sheen intensity, and inclusion pattern. If you want to see specific options before shipping, message us before placing the order and we can send photographs of available stones to choose from. Why does this listing still use raw moonstone at the heirloom tier? Because the authenticity of unenhanced moonstone is the design intent. Most commercial moonstone jewelry uses heat-treated, polished, clarity-selected moonstone with uniform appearance. The treatment removes much of the stone's natural character. We preserve raw moonstone at every tier because buyers shopping our moonstone listings specifically want authentic unenhanced material — the heirloom upgrade improves the metal construction and the accent stones, but the center stone keeps the natural character that defines the listing family. If you specifically want treated/polished moonstone at this tier (cleaner appearance, less variation), we offer a substitution at no additional cost on request. Is the moonstone real? Yes — real natural mined moonstone, a variety of orthoclase feldspar with authentic adularescence. Not simulated, not lab-created, not rainbow moonstone (a different feldspar variety). Is the moonstone treated? No. Untreated natural raw moonstone with inclusions intact. No heat treatment, no irradiation, no surface coating, no clarity or color enhancement. The stone is the way it came out of the earth, cut into pear shape but unenhanced. What is adularescence (the moonstone glow)? Adularescence is moonstone's distinctive floating blue sheen — a real physical optical phenomenon. Produced by light scattering between microscopic feldspar mineral layers inside the stone. The effect drifts across the stone's surface as you tilt it. Named for Mount Adular in Switzerland, the type-locality where moonstone was first studied. How durable is the ring for daily wear? The moonstone center is the softer stone (Mohs 6–6.5) with natural cleavage planes more sensitive to impact than harder stones. The moissanite accents are at Mohs 9.25, second only to diamond — extremely durable. With careful daily wear avoiding impact, ultrasonic cleaning, harsh chemicals, and thermal shock, the ring holds up well. The raw moonstone is the determinant of the care requirements — the moissanite accents could tolerate more aggressive treatment but the moonstone can't. What does the Celtic trinity knot symbolize? Triquetra (Celtic trinity knot) is one of the oldest Celtic symbols. Various traditional meanings (triple goddess, Trinity, mind/body/spirit) converge on "three forces unified into one" with the unbroken interlaced line representing endless continuity. The combination with moonstone is particularly resonant for Pagan/witchy/moon-goddess traditions. What does moonstone symbolize? Associated with the moon, intuition, emotional balance, feminine energy, new beginnings, and protection across many cultures for thousands of years. Sacred in Hindu mythology (moon god Chandra), associated with Greek/Roman lunar goddesses (Selene, Artemis, Diana). In modern Pagan/Wiccan traditions, associated with the moon goddess and goddess-centered spirituality. How big is the center stone? 6.0 × 8.0 mm pear cut. The pear cut's elongated vertical orientation gives the stone substantial presence on the hand. With the Celtic knot accents on each shoulder, the overall ring face reads as a complete vertical composition rather than a centered solitaire. How does engraving work? Complimentary engraving up to 16 characters is included. You can specify the text at checkout or message us with the engraving details before ordering. Engraving is interior (inside the band), the standard placement for engagement ring engravings. Can I get this in 14K yellow or rose gold instead? Yes — both yellow and rose gold are available on request at the same construction. Yellow gold would compete with the cool moonstone tone (less recommended for this design's color palette); rose gold would soften the design into romantic register; white gold (this listing default) preserves the cool moon-aesthetic palette best. White gold is offered in 10K, 14K, and 18K, plus solid platinum, directly from the drop-down. Message us before ordering for a yellow or rose gold set. How long until my ring ships? Made to order, 2–6 week production timeline. Modifications (different metal, custom engraving, diamond accent upgrade, treated moonstone substitution, custom sizing) may extend the timeline. We'll confirm production timing when your order is placed. Should I add the appraisal? The optional appraisal is recommended if you plan to insure the ring or want an independent valuation document for your records. Most insurance providers require a written appraisal to schedule the ring on a jewelry policy. The appraisal cost is non-refundable once the work has been performed, so add it at checkout only if you know you'll use it. Will this ring stack with additional plain bands? Yes. The two-ring set works as a complete bridal stack on its own, but both rings layer cleanly with plain bands, eternity bands, or other shaped rings if you want to build the stack out further over time. Are the stones ethically sourced? Yes. Natural moonstone is ethically sourced from established mining regions (India, Sri Lanka, Madagascar, Myanmar) with verified fair-labor practices. Moissanite is lab-grown with no mining footprint. What's included in the box? Both rings, a free luxury velvet jewelry box, and a care card. Free USA shipping.
