Cellar Vall Llach Embruix 2023

Critical Acclaim: 92 pts Wine Spectator; 91 pts Robert Parker's Wine Advocate; 90 pts James Suckling.  Winemaker's Tasting Notes: Deep cherry red in color with a garnet rim, this wine contains aromas of dark fruits, cured cherry with an overlaying herbal sage and black licorice aspect, light powdery cocoa notes and violets. Slightly more crisp red fruits on the palate but the wine drifts a touch weighty overall. "A dark mix of plum sauce and pureed black raspberry fruit is enmeshed with a pleasing frame of chewy tannins and lively acidity. Creamy, with good balance and medium weight through the finish, offering accents of crushed violet, sweet smoke, dark chocolate and milled pepper. Garnacha, Syrah, Merlot, Cariñena and Cabernet Sauvignon. Drink now through 2036. 2,000 cases imported."- Wine Spectator. "The red 2023 Embruix has a commercial profile with some creaminess and spiciness from the élevage in oak, along with ripe black fruit and aromatic Mediterranean herbs. It was produced with the grapes from younger vines. In 2023, the blend is 28% Merlot, 27% Garnacha, 21% Cariñena and 12% each Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine has high ripeness and 15% alcohol, reflecting a warm and very dry year of concentration and power but keeping a pH of 3.1. 77,333 bottles produced. It was bottled in March 2025."- Robert Parker's Wine Advocate.  "Black fruit, chocolate, spices, graphite and blood plums on the nose. The palate is bold and robust, with real depth of fruit carried by firm tannins and balanced acidity. Plenty to like here. Good value. Drink or hold.."- James Suckling.  About the Wine: This is the most popular wine of the Cellar. It is made with grapes from vines that are mostly less than 30 years old.
