Celestron Moon Filter Set, 1.25"

Discover the beauty of the lunar surface in greater detail with the Celestron Moon Filter Set, tailored for 1.25" eyepieces. This comprehensive kit equips you with four essential filters, each designed to enhance your moon-watching experience. Whether you're a budding astronomer or a seasoned lunar observer, this set offers the perfect tools for varying viewing conditions. Included in the set are three neutral density (ND) filters, each with a different level of light transmission (13%, 25%, and 50%). These filters allow you to adjust the brightness of the moon's image to suit your specific viewing needs, reducing glare and improving contrast. They are ideal for observing the Moon in different phases, with the darker filter suited for larger telescopes and lower magnification eyepieces, and the lighter filters for smaller scopes and higher magnifications. Additionally, the Moon & Sky Glow filter in the kit is specifically designed to provide high-contrast views of the lunar surface. This filter is especially beneficial for those in light-polluted areas, as it enhances the observation of deep sky objects by blocking certain wavelengths associated with common urban lighting. Each filter in the Celestron Moon Filter Set is housed in a sturdy aluminum cell, ensuring durability and a secure fit on most 1.25” eyepieces. The filters are also threaded on both sides, allowing for stacking and combining them for customized light filtration. The kit also includes a handy plastic carrying case, lined with foam to protect your filters when not in use. To further enhance your lunar exploration, the set comes with a detailed Moon map and legend, highlighting 17 key features on the Moon’s surface, perfect for both educational and recreational purposes. As an added bonus, the Moon Filter Set comes with a free download of Robert Reeves' eBook, "Lunar Landscapes," offering in-depth knowledge about the Moon's geology and history. This comprehensive Celestron Moon Filter Set is an indispensable tool for anyone looking to delve deeper into lunar observation and photography.   Specifications Filter size: 31.75mm (1.25") Cell housing: Aluminum Stackable filter threads: Yes Individual filter weight: .21 oz (6 g) Filter 1: ND96-0.9 13% light transmission Filter 2: ND96-0.6 25% light transmission Filter 3: ND96-0.3 50% light transmission Filter 4: Moon and Sky Glow, light purple Total weight with filters and case: 2.61 oz (74 g) Solar Warning California Residents View Proposition 65 Warning
