CE-204 Rectifying regulator for 1981-1988 Harley-Davidson Big Twin motorcycles Cycle Electric's CE-208 rectifying regulator provides a smoother charge to the battery than shunt-style regs. This translates to longer battery and stator life and less stress placed upon the sensitive electronics that control your late-model motorcycle. Unlike shunt-style regulators that dump current to the ground to control voltage on Harley-Davidson alternators, Cycle Electric rectifying regulators block current to control the voltage. This design reduces stator current (and heat!) resulting in less strain on the electrical components—and the motor, so you'll free up a little power, too. This reg is specifically designed as a replacement for OEM P/N 74516-86. And like all Cycle Electric products, this is proudly made in Ohio, USA.
