Bosch CDR DLC Tool Hardware Kit with Software License

The Bosch CDR DLC Tool Hardware Kit contains all hardware required to perform a DLC/OBD retrieval of EDR data supported by the Bosch CDR 900 VCI as stated in the Bosch CDR Help File.  This purchase also includes a 1-year Bosch CDR software license . Event Data Recorder (EDR) data stored in the vehicle’s safety system(s) after a crash, is critical evidence in accident investigations. It is unbiased, accurate, and defensible, and when combined with physical evidence, it clarifies what happened before, during, and after the crash. This EDR "crash" data supports insurance, law enforcement, government safety research, crash reconstruction professionals, and law firms by reporting events such as speed, braking, seat belt use, steering input, and delta-V. Just as important as the EDR data is the EDR tool and software used to retrieve and translate the data. The Bosch CDR Tool and software is the premier choice for EDR data retrieval and translation. Its core strength lies in its foundation of authentic information directly from OEMs, rigorously tested by those OEMs, and explicitly licensed and approved by all supported OEMs. This is critically important. Unlike tools that might attempt to reverse engineer proprietary data or guess at translations using outdated specifications, the Bosch CDR Tool operates with the precise protocols and algorithms provided by the vehicle manufacturers themselves. This direct OEM relationship ensures unrivaled accuracy, preventing data misinterpretation or incompleteness that can fundamentally alter accident reconstruction. The explicit approval from all supported OEMs further solidifies its position, certifying that the tool functions exactly as intended by the creators of the vehicles and EDRs, thereby minimizing doubt and ambiguity about the data's integrity and admissibility in any legal or expert review. Furthermore, the Bosch CDR Tool's reliability and quality are cemented by Bosch's own internal validation processes, which adhere to ISO 9001 for quality management and ISO 14001 for environmental management. The ISO 9001 certification guarantees a robust, consistent quality control system throughout the CDR Tool's development, manufacturing, and support lifecycle. This means investigators can trust in the tool's performance, stability, and the accuracy of its outputs consistently over time. The ISO 14001 certification underscores a commitment to responsible and ethical manufacturing, reflecting a broader organizational excellence that underpins the trustworthiness of all Bosch products. This comprehensive combination of direct OEM validation (from data provision to testing and approval) and stringent internal quality management certifications positions the Bosch CDR Tool as the most forensically sound, legally defensible, and reliable state-of-the-art tool available for extracting EDR data, making it an indispensable asset for any professional accident investigator seeking to deliver unimpeachable results in both single and complex multi-vehicle incidents. The Bosch CDR DLC Tool Kit currently supports select models of the following vehicle manufacturers in North America:  Acura Ford Nissan Alfa Romeo Freightliner/Sprinter Pagani Audi GMC Polestar AVGM Honda Porsche Bentley Jeep RAM BMW Karma Rolls-Royce Buick Lamborghini smart Cadillac Lexus Subaru Chevy Lucid Toyota Chrysler Mazda Volkswagen Dodge Mercedes-Benz Volvo Ferrari MINI Fiat Mitsubishi NOTE: this package does NOT contain any hardware to perform a “direct-to-module (D2M)” retrieval of EDR data. Please see the Bosch CDR Tool Kits and Bundles for more options. NOTE: this kit does not include the legacy Bosch CANplus VCI. Any vehicle that requires the CANplus VCI for imaging EDR crash data will not be accessible using the CDR DLC Tool Kit. Bosch is currently working on migrating all supported vehicles to be accessible using the CDR 900 VCI.
