If you’re unsure, or you’re looking for the most accurate measurement you can get, visit your local Pure Hockey. CCM’s Tacks line offers a tapered, regular, or wide fit depending on your foot. This will allow for a customized feel, closer fit and faster strides. For a better understanding of the fitting system, check out our CCM performance fit system video. CCM has built the Tacks AS-V Pro with its highly advanced One-Piece Boot Power technology, an upgrade from the previous AS3 Pro model. The lightweight RFM composite with a high-end carbon material is engineered for the modern power skater with intense strides looking for explosiveness without restriction. The carbon composite wraps under the boot and because of this, energy is no longer lost or absorbed by a glued and nailed outsole, but instead is now transferred directly through the boot to the ice.  Included with this skate is CCM’s Metatomic Tongue with D3O foam that takes comfort and protection to an all-new level. This multi-layer 7mm tongue has asymmetrical flex points for a better wrap and foam inserts to shield from slashes and pucks.  The AS-V Pro features an unmatched custom feel by making the tongues interchangeable. For additional purchase you can switch out various tongue inserts to optimize feel and protection in your skate. The XS Tongue System gives the player options in thickness to either increase or decrease the inner boot volume to achieve the best fit. Improved on this year’s Tacks line is the tendon guard. CCM uses the Powerflex Tendon with carbon. This technology improves range of motion for fuller strides and increased skating power.  Helping with the custom feel is CCM’s multi-density memory foam ankle padding and Total Dri-Pro+ liner with polygiene. The memory foam padding includes a seamless comfort finish that wraps anatomically around your foot. The Total-Dri Pro+ liner with polygiene helps the skater’s foot resist abrasions while also wicking away unvented moisture. The liner has a tacky feel, helping to lock in the feet, even in high-moisture conditions.  Also found inside the boot is CCM’s Ortholite UltraLite footbed with heel grip. This is a streamlined approach to the footbed that will save weight in key areas to make the skate lighter. In addition, it’s going to allow your foot to stay locked in place and add comfort for the bottom of the foot. It is built to release moisture out of the bottom of the boot to keep your foot dryer during play.  Rounding out this impressive skate is the Speedblade XS Holder. CCM has improved on their spring-lock system to create the SpeedBlade Xchange System; a positive-lock mechanism that tightly secures the blade to the holder and makes swapping out blades more efficient. Using this technology is as easy as rolling the BladeLock dial until you feel resistance, then popping the blade out. Place your new blade into the holder, turn back the dial, and you can be back in the game without missing a shift. CCM has poured several new technologies into the 2022 Tacks AS-V Pro skate that focuses on power and explosiveness. If you’re looking for an elite skate that will give you an edge with all the top features, the AS-V Pro skate is for you. This is the newest and highest performing skate in that category.
