This exceptional spirit is made from 100% organic Blue Weber Agave, slow-cooked in low-pressure autoclaves to preserve the plant's natural sweetness. After distillation, the tequila is placed into reworked, re-charred American oak barrels for a minimum of three years. Cazcanes ages their tequila to taste, not to time, meaning each small batch is a curated blend of barrels that have reached their absolute peak expression, perfectly balancing the bold agave character with rich notes from the oak. Key Specifications: Product: Cazcanes No. 7 Extra Añejo Tequila Agave: 100% Organic Blue Weber Agave Proof | ABV: 80 Proof | 40% ABV Aging: Minimum of 3 years in re-charred American Oak barrels Distillery: Tequilera Tap (NOM 1614), Amatitán, Jalisco, Mexico Purity: Certified Additive-Free Brand History: The Spirit of the Last Warriors Cazcanes Tequila is named in honor of the Cazcanes natives, the last indigenous people of Mexico to be conquered by the Spaniards. The brand embodies their resilience and spirit, reviving a 300-year-old indigenous recipe and combining it with meticulous, modern quality control. A core element of their craft is the use of pristine, natural volcanic spring water, which is trucked in from the remote Navichi Springs for every production run to ensure absolute purity. This dedication to natural ingredients and the "lost art" of tequila making has made Cazcanes a cult favorite and a benchmark for additive-free tequila. A: "Extra Añejo" (Extra Aged) is the official classification for tequila that has been aged in oak barrels for a minimum of three years. Cazcanes No. 7 often exceeds this minimum, with barrels being selected for the blend based on their peak flavor profile. Q: Is this tequila good for margaritas? A: While you could make an incredibly luxurious margarita with it, this tequila is crafted to be a high-end sipping spirit. Its complexity and nuance are best appreciated when enjoyed neat, similar to a fine whiskey or cognac. Q: What does "additive-free" signify? A: While regulations allow for up to 1% of certain additives (like coloring or sweeteners) in tequila, an "additive-free" certification means that the tequila is guaranteed to be made from only agave, water, and yeast, with all flavors and colors coming naturally from the agave and the barrel-aging process. Q: How does this differ from the Cazcanes No. 7 Añejo? A: The main difference is age. The Añejo is aged for at least one year, while the Extra Añejo is aged for a minimum of three years. This extended aging period results in a deeper, richer, and more complex flavor profile with more pronounced influence from the oak barrel. Q: Where can I purchase Cazcanes No. 7 Extra Añejo? A: This is a premium, often limited-production tequila. We recommend contacting our preferred retail partner, Nestor Liquor, to inquire about their inventory and availability.
