Cave Bear Skull Pendant

Cave Bear Skull Pendant Ursus spelaeus - The Cave Bear became extinct about 24,000 years ago and lived at the same time as Woolly Mammoths, Saber-toothed Cats, and Dire Wolves. This powerful beast could weigh up to 1,540 pounds, which is larger than most Polar Bears. Prehistoric humans painted images of these giants on cave walls and carved their likeness in fragments of Mammoth tusk. This piece features a hinged jaw. Includes matching 24 inch chain. Wooden display base optional. Skull Dimensions: 18mm x 30mm x 25mm More about Fire & Bone jewelry: Each and every Fire & Bone skull jewelry piece began life as a real animal skull. Using cutting-edge 3D scanners they bring an exact copy of that skull into the digital realm. It is here that they scale the skull down to size before bringing it back into the physical world. Using a high-resolution 3D printer, a miniaturized version of the original skull is created in wax. From that wax, a mold is made and from that mold they are able to produce a perfect miniature replica of our original animal skull in White Bronze, Yellow Bronze, or Sterling Silver, using age-old lost wax casting techniques.
