Cavansite

A superb specimen of Cavansite. This piece features a half-dozen deep-blue spherical rosettes of Cavansite on a contrasting microcrystalline Stilbite covered matrix. This Cavansite has such an intense, vivid blue color that it almost seems fake, but it’s very real! The challenge is getting the color of the Cavansite to accurately translate to “film,” yet no matter what I do, it just doesn’t do the piece adequate justice, so as much as I hate to say and you hate to hear it, it’s much more intense and colorful in person. Add to that an unusually large rosette (nearly 2 cm) and this is a very unique and special piece. Outstanding color, contrast and symmetry, and in excellent condition.
