Each flower is a masterpiece in itself, boasting remarkable longevity and a captivating fragrance that will fill your living space with a delightful aroma. Cultivating Tips: Lighting: Provide your Cattleya purpurata with bright, filtered light to ensure its optimal growth and blooming potential. Avoid placing it in direct sunlight, as it may cause sunburn on its delicate leaves and flowers. Temperature: Aim for a temperature range between 60°F to 80°F (15°C to 27°C) during the day, with a slight drop at night. This mimics the orchid's natural habitat and promotes healthy growth. Humidity: Maintain a moderate to high humidity level, preferably between 50% to 70%, to mimic the coastal conditions this orchid thrives in. Watering: Water your Cattleya purpurata thoroughly and allow the roots to dry out partially before the next watering. Overwatering can lead to root rot, while underwatering may hinder its growth and blooming potential. Potting Medium: Use a well-draining orchid mix, such as bark or sphagnum moss, to ensure good aeration and prevent waterlogged roots. Fertilizing: Feed your orchid with a balanced orchid fertilizer during its active growing season, typically from spring to early fall. Be cautious not to over-fertilize, as this can harm the plant.
