Toonces the Driving Cat — Replica Promo Tee (Late ’80s / Early ’90s) Before viral sketches. Before YouTube clips. Before every joke lived forever online — there was Toonces the Driving Cat, one of the most absurdly simple and beloved recurring bits from Saturday Night Live. Debuting in the late 1980s, Toonces appeared as a seemingly normal house cat who, for reasons no one questioned, could operate a car. The setup was always the same: polite small talk, mild optimism… and then inevitable disaster. Car swerves. Wide-eyed feline stare. Cliff. Roll credits.
