This kit adds rolling mobility to an existing step stool so workers can move it between tasks without picking it up. The casters attach to the base of a 1-step poly step stool that is already in service, making it a simple upgrade that does not require a new unit. The SPN-1-PO-RF features 3-inch by 1-inch hard rubber casters in black. Assembled dimensions are 3 inches deep by 3 inches wide. The kit ships with an approximate weight of 7 lbs and is covered by a 90-day limited warranty. This retrofit caster kit is built for facilities that want to add portability to their 1-step step stools without replacing the entire unit. Features and Benefits This caster portability kit shortens the time it takes to move a step stool from one work area to another. The base 1-step nestable poly step stool weighs approximately 12 lbs on its own. While that is already light, adding casters eliminates the need to bend down, pick up, and carry the stool entirely. Workers can simply roll it into position and get back to work. This reduces the amount of bending and twisting needed during repositioning, which adds up over a full shift. The hard rubber wheels roll smoothly on a variety of floor surfaces, including concrete, tile, and sealed flooring commonly found in warehouses, stockrooms, and production floors. Installation is simple and designed for immediate use. The kit attaches easily to existing 1-step poly step stool models with no special tools or complicated steps. The robust design holds up to daily use in demanding work settings. The base 1-step nestable poly step stool supports a 500 lb. uniform capacity. The step measures 19-7/8 inches by 19-7/8 inches. Anti-slip tape on the step surface helps provide secure footing. The caster kit is built to work within the same capacity range as the base unit. Because this is a retrofit accessory, facilities can upgrade step stools already on the floor rather than buying new units with casters pre-installed. Applications The retrofit caster portability kit is a good fit for any workplace where 1-step nestable poly step stools are moved between locations during the workday. Common environments include: Warehouses and distribution centers Stockrooms and retail backrooms Maintenance and repair areas Production and assembly floors Commercial kitchens and food service areas Hotels and hospitality facilities Municipal and government buildings Shipping and packaging areas Adding casters to a 1-step stool makes it easy to reposition between aisles, workstations, or departments. This is especially helpful when multiple workers share the same step stool across a shift or when the stool needs to follow a worker from task to task throughout a facility. Instead of stopping work to carry the stool, teams can roll it to the next location and keep moving. Nestable poly step stools provide lightweight, high-visibility access across many commercial and industrial workspaces, and the caster kit makes that access even more flexible and efficient. Selection Assistance Barron Equipment and Overhead Door offers guidance to help customers choose the right step stool accessory for their setup. This retrofit caster portability kit is designed only for 1-step nestable poly step stool models in the SPN series. It is not compatible with 2-step or 3-step models, which each have their own version of the caster kit (SPN-2-PO-RF and SPN-3-PO-RF). Facilities that also want handrails can look at the retrofit handrail kit (SPN-1-YL-HR-RF). If you want handrails and casters combined into one purchase, the All Options Accessory Kit (SPN-1-YL-AOK) bundles both into one package for convenience. Note that back rail kits are available for 2-step and 3-step models but are not offered for the 1-step configuration. Customers can reach out through the website to compare options, confirm compatibility, or get help choosing the right accessory for their step stools.
