Cast Iron Tree Trunk Sundial Pedestal Base (#B65)

This 16” tall tree trunk pedestal pays homage to 19th century French naturalist faux bois cast iron park benches. Cast iron has been a popular metal for garden décor since the 19th century. Developed as an affordable alternative to bronze, it was the metal that first brought garden art to the backyards of the middle class. While heavy and long lasting, the very real trade off with cast iron is that it rusts. This is why most cast iron has a painted finish that can be updated over time to stave off rust. Our cast iron bases are painted with a base coat, applied with a verdigris finish and then lacquered to stave off oxidation. We suggest applying a clearcoat spray lacquer application as needed to prevent rust.    This Sundial Pedestal Ships Free In The Contiguous 48 States *** Due to weight and size issues, our pedestals are not available for international shipping *** Some of our pedestal bases are direct shipped from the manufacturer.
