In "Cashew speak", these are 240W (W is for "wholes") versus the previous 320W-- that's how much space per pound the Cashews themselves occupy (the bigger the cashews, the more space they take up, so, 240 Cashews/lb.). This project now includes one of the few advanced organic cashew factories in the world. The success of the project comes not only from the high quality of the product but also from its positive social impact. The cashew processing plant employs 90 people in a rural area, enabling young people to stay close to their families instead of migrating to the city in search of work. This organization also provides support and training in organic farming. Farmers increase their yields without the use of agrochemicals, often using the same techniques their ancestors used, resulting in higher returns on organically farmed land. Why We Love Cashews Wilderness Poets Cashews are raw organic superfoods heavenly sweet and creamy. Native to the tropics, they are grown on beautiful evergreen trees. Both the nut (after processing), and the "apple" of the cashews are edible. The "apple" is the large fleshy fruit at the top of the nut. Whole Cashews are deeply satisfying alone, their versatility as an ingredient is unsurpassed by any other nut. Use them to make sauces, dips, raw desserts, or munch on them by the handful.
