Produced from estate-owned vineyards located in the picturesque countryside in the DOCG appellation in Tuscany. Carpineto Chianti Classico Riserva showcases an elegant bouquet of persistent raspberry and vanilla aromas lent from extensive aging in a combination of French and Slavonian oak barrels for 12 months and bottle for 10 months. Full in body and velvety in texture, the finish is long and generous. Wine Spectator: 90 Smoky blackberry, rosemary and tar flavors predominate in this burly red, with dense, assertive tannins. This could use a little more generosity midpalate to buffer the tannins, yet persists on the finish. Best from 2023 through 2037. 16,000 cases made, 7,200 cases imported.
