Carpenter's Conceptions

The Innovative Magic of Jack Carpenter One of the greatest cardmen on the planet has released a new hardbound book of never before published material! Jack Carpenter has been a creative force among magic’s inner circle for over three decades and his creations are used by top flight magicians around the world. Beginning with his landmark book Modus Operandi released in 1992, Jack has published a wealth of material in his books Expert Portfolio’s 1 and 2, along with his videos and many contributions to magic magazines and books. The quality of Jack’s work has garnered him an international reputation as one of magic’s true card experts. His material is highly sought after by card workers and those “In the know.” Steve Forte has called Jack, “The Cardman’s Cardman. A True Master.” Carpenter’s Conceptions is Jack’s largest release to date and consists of material that he has created and used over the last fifteen years along with a few items that he has been keeping to himself for even longer than that. All of the material in the book has never been published. Inside Carpenter’s Conceptions you will find elegantly crafted card magic routines and sleights as well as magic with other items such as coins, rope and even fire. There are 35 items (28 routines and 7 sleights) all taught in exquisite detail and illustrated with over 200 photographs. There is magic that happens on the card table and magic that can be performed walk-around without a table. The routines are all magician foolers and layman dazzlers. Complete presentations for a majority of the routines have been included in the descriptions just as Jack performs them. There are no pipe dreams here... all of the material consists of top quality workers performed with a regular pack of playing cards and common objects. Allan Ackerman states in the Foreword that the 452 Control in this book is one of the best multiple shifts ever created, and this one item alone is worth the price of the book... the method is so ingenious and different from other techniques that have appeared in print.  Among the many gems in the book you will learn... Final Jazz Aces –Classic magic with a surprise “Double Climax.” Jack has fooled many knowledgeable magicians with this routine; it takes them completely by surprise. No-Palm Queens to Pocket – Four queens travel to the performer’s pocket without any palming at all. A clever and entertaining routine that is easy to do yet will fool mostly everyone. Just Another Night in Las Vegas – The most entertaining presentation and routine ever devised for the classic “Hotel Mystery” that includes the classic surprise kicker that we come to expect from Jack’s work. This one is sure to find its way into the repertoire of many magicians. Card Shark School – An Instant Assembly with five climaxes! It’s sure to bring down the house. It’s almost unfair to batter your audience with so many magical climaxes but they will love you for it. A New York Minute – Jack’s underground short-change bill routine. This is Jack at his best... a multi-phase routine that is pure magical entertainment with dollar bills. One and Done! – Another closer...a multi-phase full-deck finale routine where all of the cards go back into perfect order. Featuring the Sweep Rollout Production, this is a display of pure virtuosity with a deck of cards.  The J & J Knot Routine – Jack and Jamie Masterson devised this four-phase rope routine using a normal piece of rope that is 3-4 minutes of pure visual entertainment. A great rope routine for close-up and parlor workers. Déjà vu Doo – One of the most entertaining presentations ever devised for an in-the hands triumph. The new method is simplicity itself and will delight you.  For those seeking expert gambling material there are items such as The Expert’s Triple Duke and the Quadratic Hold’em Stack that are sure to satisfy your quest. These are two of the best state of the art methods for stacking multiple poker hands in existence. These are but a few of the 28 commercial routines that you will learn in Carpenter’s Conceptions along with powerful utility sleights such as The Impossible Switch-out, 452 Control, The J.C. Hustle Shuffle, Scissors Shift and much more... Order your copy of Carpenter’s Conceptions today and begin your journey into the mind and magic of Jack Carpenter. Foreword by Allan Ackerman. I kept discovering one terrific routine after another. The book is Fantastic!” Steve Ehlers The Arizona Card Expert _________________________________________ “Jack is one of the most skilled and creative card magicians of the last forty years or so. I got into his work as a fan of the card table stuff; but... if you want commercial, fun, card magic? If you want technical finesse? If you want the heavy card table stuff? Even if you don’t do card stuff at all, this book is full of strong, solid items. He’s just a machine like that. There’s a coin item, a brilliant short change routine, (that I’ve slept on for way too long) and even a ROPE TRICK?!?! The man’s a magical beast." Tony Cabral ___________________________________________ “My highest recommendation! Anything of Jack’s is a must buy!” Bill Malone ____________________________________________ “There's little I can say about Jack that hasn't been said already. Yes, he's a prolific creator. Yes, much (if not most) of his work is ingenious. Yes, he's a creative force to be reckoned with, and yes, he's the consummate gentleman and a class act. WE KNOW THIS ALREADY. I can say that Carpenter's Conceptions, like all his works, is a delight. It's simply a marvel to walk through his mind just to get a glimpse of how he thinks, because this is how we all become better magicians.” Lance Pierce
