Brand: American Beauties Native Plants® Color: Pink Shades Features: Ideal for hedges Attracts pollinators Rose hips can be made onto tea or jelly Excellent year round coverage Details: Rosa Carolina is a woody native shrub from the Rosaceae family with fine-textured, deciduous foliage and an erect growth habit. Historically used medicinally by Native Americans, its edible flowers and hips are versatile in culinary uses. The Carolina Rose is valuable for wildlife, offering year-round cover and food for birds, mammals, and pollinators, while its leaves and stems provide browsing for deer and elk. It propagates well from root cuttings, stems cuttings, or seeds, and thrives in full sun to partial shade. Growing Tips: For Rosa Carolina, plant in full sun for optimal flowering and disease resistance, though it will also tolerate partial shade. Ensure the soil is moist and well-drained; while the rose can handle occasional dryness and heat, consistent moisture is ideal. In colder climates, protect the crown during winter to prevent damage. Prune the shrub in late winter to early spring.
