Protected and Dry A lightweight carbon composite toe protects without steel's weight or cold transfer, and the sealed SCUBALINER™ membrane keeps feet dry in wet conditions. Nothing Metal in the Boot Carbon composite toe, composite shank, and no eyelets at all — Carolina builds no metal into this boot's structure. That keeps it light, keeps the toe box warmer in winter, and where access points are detector-controlled it clears them cleanly. Why Choose the CA8536? A waterproof, carbon composite square-toe roper that pairs western style with all-day jobsite protection. Similar Styles to Consider Prefer no safety toe? The CA8036 is the soft-toe version. Frequently Asked Questions Is there any metal in the boot? No. The CA8536 uses a non-metallic carbon composite toe and a non-metallic shank, and as a pull-on it has no eyelets or lace hardware. How is carbon composite different from standard composite? Both are non-metallic and both meet the same ASTM I/C thresholds. A carbon fiber weave reaches that rating with less material, so the toe cap is lighter and slightly less bulky than a standard composite cap. Can it be resoled? Yes. Welt construction stitches the outsole to the upper rather than bonding it, so a cobbler can replace it when the tread wears down. Is it insulated? The CA8536 is uninsulated, which makes it comfortable across three seasons. For cold work, Carolina builds insulated models rated by gram weight.
